About
A place to write together
Half Quill exists because collaborative writing platforms either don't exist or turned into social media.
We could all use a little more human creativity in our lives. Not content, not output. Just the simple fun of making something up with another person and seeing where it goes.
That's the idea behind Half Quill. A place where sharing a creative experience is the whole point. You write with strangers, not for an audience. You don't know who will continue your story. They don't know who started it. The only thing that connects you is the words on the page.
The daily exercise keeps it light. Five minutes, not five hours. A warm-up, not a commitment. You finish three plots from other people, start one of your own, and go about your day. If you want to write more, the stories are there. If not, that's fine too.
This is a passion project built by a small group of friends. Some help build it, some let us bounce ideas off them, some just show up and write. No investors, no growth targets, no roadmap driven by metrics. Just a writing playground that stays playful.
Every word is human
No AI generation, no auto-complete, no machine-written suggestions. The unpredictability of another person's imagination is the whole point.
Social, not competitive
No follower counts, no leaderboards, no algorithmic feeds. You're building stories together, not audiences.
Playful, not precious
Push the story forward. Don't agonize over every word. Momentum and surprise over perfection.
We're building this in the open. Got ideas, feedback, or just want to say hi?
