Skips that stick

A few of you flagged a frustrating loop both on the ideas board and to me in person: skip a plot during the daily exercise, then a week later the same plot turns up again. You're forced to spend another skip on something you'd already decided wasn't for you. Worth it sometimes (a re-read can change your mind), but mostly just annoying.

So skips now come in two flavors:

  • Skip works like before. It costs one of your two daily skips, and the plot might still come back to challenge you another day.

  • Hide forever also costs a skip, but tells us to keep that plot out of your future exercises for good.

You can change your mind any time. There's a new Manage skipped plots link on your Plots page that lists everything you've skipped, with a switch on each row. Flip it off and the plot becomes eligible again. Flip it on and it's gone (until you change your mind again).

To add to this: I will also use “Hide forever” now in place of the regular skips to decide if a plot should be removed from the pool for all writers. I already did this using regular skips so I hope this extra flavor will allow you to make it clearer to me what types of plots should be skipped for everyone.
